I constantly see questions on this site that could easily be answered if the inquirer would simply type keywords into any search engine. Over half of them could be answered in Wikipedia alone. We credit our young people with knowing so much about the internet, yet they can not navigate a simple search? How is this possible?

“Computer illiteracy”
Welcome to America
EDIT: If someone asks you a stupid question send them to this site
justfuckinggoogleit.com/
Did you ever consider they did use the search engine but the questions they found didn’t have the answer(s) they were looking for?
How do you think most people answer these questions.. They look it up, copy and paste, and get points haha
I think they are aware and are just too lazy.
Or perhaps they are doing both.
Some people would like answers from actual people with personal experience.
They could have input that a search engine could not give.
But that doesn’t excuse some of the questions I see on here, you’re right.
sites like yahoo, and google are not advertised on tv so i can uderstand why there might be a few people who dont know about the sites.
what are you talking about!? EVERYONE on Yahoo Answers knows far more than ANY encyclopedia.
That’s weird, I was just thinking the exact same thing. How can you possibly be computer literate enough to use yahoo answers, but stupid enough not to know how a search engine works?
The majority of everyone on here uses search engines everyday. The point here is to ask questions and answer them. Most all of the questions I ask I already know the answers but I like to get input from others.
I think they know but either are too lazy to use them or they just want to have something to say and can think of nothing else.
